All About Us

Welcome

This web site's purpose is two-fold. First, it is a tutorial with tools, information and opportunities for 5th Grade students and teachers to choose between credible and bogus habitat web sites. Students need to become efficient and critical users of the Internet. They need to evaluate web sites for accuracy, authority, objectivity, currency and coverage.

Second, it is a instructional lesson. It provides a variety of media to gather information on habitats. The student who is an independent learner is information literate and strives for excellence in information seeking and knowledge generation in order to meet the Virginia Standards of Learning.
